keep you occupied during your time back at base also....

The Toto Schillaci Pizza House

One of our guests favourite things to do on site is to make and cook their own pizzas. The Toto Schillaci pizza house including wood fired pizza oven is available for our guests. Pizza packs are available to purchase at the time of booking, or at check in, and include wood for the fire, 2 pizza bases, tomato paste, cheese and a range of toppings. Clear instructions on how to use the pizza oven are provided. It’s lots of fun and it’s delicious.

Fishing

A short walk to the end of our glamping park will take you to the bank of the river Lung, where many fishermen & women have spent many hours and caught many fish. We do not provide fishing gear, but you are very welcome to bring your own. Perch and Roach are the most commonly found fish along this stretch of the river. Trout and Pike have been known to appear also, but they have been less common. No permit is required to fish on the river Lung, and there is no charge for guests to access our 230m stretch along the riverbank.

Alpaca Walks

A big hit with the kids and adults alike here at willowbrook are the alpacas from the nearby Hayfield Alpaca Farm. You can book an alpaca walk around site where your group will be invited to lead two alpacas around our paths and grasslands, and to feed them. Kayaking / SUP

We are blessed to have the beautiful river lung as our southern boundary here at willowbrook. Those of you who have your own kayaks or stand-up-paddleboards are welcome to enter the river from our banks and have a paddle up or down stream. It is a gentle slow-flowing river so not suitable for those seeking to ride the rapids, but if a leisurely paddle around the bends and through the reeds is what you are after then the lung is perfect. The lake is unfortunately out of bounds for kayaks and SUPs. If you don’t have your own gear, we highly recommend a kayak tour on nearby Lough Gara with PMacs kayaks. Inspiration & Relaxation

The natural beauty of this part of Ireland is what drew Tuesday’s parents to this site back in the mid 1990’s, and the work they put into the site over the years has created something truly stunning. A walk by the river, a sit down in a quiet spot amongst the trees or spending some time at the Japanese tea house overlooking our little lake is enough for most to find peace and serenity. Our site has been very popular with artists, writers, and other creatives over the years, with those so inclined immersing themselves in the landscape to help to achieve that creative flow that we all seek.

Gallery Space

The camper’s kitchen doubles as a sort of mini art gallery with artworks created by numerous talented local artists on display all over the walls. All artworks on display are for sale, so if you see something you like, why not take it home with you. We are big fans of all sorts of artistic and creative endeavours and this idea is founded on our love of the arts and an urge to support local artists in whatever way we can. Willowbrook does not take a commission on sales of artwork so 100% of the cost of any artwork goes directly to the artist.

Wellness

Willowbrook Glamping and Hideaways is also the home of the Willowbrook Natural Healing Clinic, which provides therapies including various forms of massage and acupuncture as well as Tai Chi classes. For more details and booking information see the Wellness page.
